Episode 5: Kate Dodd

Artist Kate Dodd has had a rough few months with the premature removal of two of her recent installations.

Last Fall, her site-specific installation for the Richard Meier/Teachers Village building in Newark, “Before Brick City” was censored by a tenant in the building (a charter school). It was torn down 30 minutes prior to the Newark Open Doors Citywide Art Festival Friday Night Gallery Crawl. This spring her installation “Harder to Reflect” was removed from the Black Willow Pond, South Mountain Reservation due to a possible danger to birds. Not What It Is’s Sam Vladimirsky was lucky enough to capture this installation before it was removed. Please enjoy Episode 5: Kate Dodd.
